i'm so sorry but....

...i actually am really kinda loving david hale. another excellent game last night, ending even with eighteen minutes on the ice [extra minutes spent paired with sarich while regehr was in the box].... he spent some time on the PK, was steady as the only guy back on a 2-on-1 and each of his bad plays was followed immediately with a sweet recovery....

to me, he's lookin' a bit like gio (without the offensive upside).

am i WRONG here ?????

;)

He reminds me more of Ference, but I understand what you're saying. He's full value for the 500k we're paying him this year. If Sutter can re-up David for less than 1M this summer, I'll be happy.

ference with an extra 3 inches and 20 pounds....

it honestly makes me wonder what the flames' scouts are out doing right now... seriously. i would never have considered NJ's 7th defenseman as a good deadline pickup last year.... but he has definitely played warrener out of a job....

Hale's been great, I totally agree. And he's making Eriksson look worse and worse ... it still just boggles the mind that Sutter rid us of Zyuzin and replaced him with a guy just a slight bit better, while casting aside Ference and Giordano for essentially nothing.

More and more I'm liking the idea that the Flames might find a way to shed the Eriksson and Warrener contracts and replace 'em with a returning Giordano next year. Nothing wrong with a Hale-Gio 5/6, and Pardy as the 7. Cheap!
