I accuse Darryl Sutter of nepotism (UPDATE: Accusation changed to blindness)

Aaarrrrggggh!

I mean, it's great Daymond Langkow is back, but what the fuck? HOW DOES VAN DER GULIK GET SENT DOWN AND SUTTER STAYS UP?

It's like they want to lose these games.

UPDATE: Sutter sent down as well, hence the headline update. Would still rather have DVDG vs. at least Warren Peters, and probably Jamie Lundmark. And definitely Jim Vandermeer as a forward.

i think it's clear that dvdg has asked to increase his aeroplan points, and daz is simply obliging...

he'll be back in a few days.

I think it's ridiculous too. VDG has been one the best call-ups this year and there's simply no way a guy like Sutter is in the same league at this time.

Maybe he's trying to teach his nephew something about how much work it is to play in the bigs...

Or he didn't want to just call him up for one game...

the qcflames website is saying that brett sutter has returned to the fold , as the baby flames head to houston to play the aeros.

so i'll call that an error by way of the calgary herald.

on second look, the qc site says that both brett sutter and dvdg have been demoted, telling me that pardy gets back into the lineup, vandy gets the wing, and peters, lundmark, and langkow fill the rest of the holes.

Fair enough then

Just to clarify, I was more careful than that, and so was the Herald. When I wrote this, the Flames' website was only reporting the DVDG demotion. In any case, it's still dumb, because I'd be keeping him over Peters at the least, and perhaps Lundmark as well. (Nothing AGAINST those two, who've been fine, but DVDG has been better.)

OK, going to change the headline now.

Oh, no shame Duncan. I know the Flames announced the Sutter demotion well after everything else.
