Yup. At the time, I said "good trade if Stuart signs here. Bad trade if not." The fact that Sutter instead re-signed Primeau and topped-up the defensive depth with Eriksson makes it a terrible trade in retrospect.

i just think that in our current state, ference would look pretty effin' good back there on the blueline in the 5/6 pairing.... like.... DAMN good. and for 100K less than eriksson....

ohyeah, and we wouldn't have lost as many games last year either.

Yes. And I fully expect the Flames to reacquire Ference later this season in a deal that sends Eriksson and Primeau back the other way.

I was personally devastated when I heard Ference was traded, not just because I have long supported Ference, but because I am not a fan of Stuart at all. I spent half of last season trying to convince the oilogosphere that Stuart was the wrong answer to Edmonton's questionable defence...then we end up with him.

Duncan if you're right I would be pretty happy. I don't expect that at all though as it would make too much sense. Sutter just signed Kipper to a great deal so a stinker deal is up next.

I miss Ference more and more each day, and the more and more I have to watch Eriksson suck balls!

Hhahaha...if only. I dont think there's a GM incompetent enough to take on 2.9M worth of useless contracts like Eriksson and Primeau.

Although, Im not sure what says about Sutter.
